Is Parsio safe? The short answer and what it rests on

Parsio's own pages state that it is registered in Estonia, encrypts documents and never trains AI models on them, while its terms say users whose use falls under HIPAA may not use the site. Every row below is Parsio's statement, not an audit. The free plan costs nothing, and the first paid plan, Starter, is $29 a month, billed monthly, for 100 credits; Parsio pricing has the rest.

Who runs Parsio and what its terms say

Parsio's terms say it is registered in Estonia with its registered office in Tallinn. They add that Parsio cannot receive post at a physical address, so complaints go by email. The terms are headed October 17, 2021, and Parsio changes them by updating a date.

Disputes go to binding arbitration in Brussels after 30 days of informal negotiation, and Parsio's liability is capped at what you paid in the two months before the claim. Parsio's comparison page also says it and Airparser are built by the same team.

Where your documents are processed and who else handles them

Parsio's security page says data is processed in the EU and the US, with core compute in Germany. It names Hetzner data centers in Falkenstein and Nuremberg and credits ISO/IEC 27001 certification to those data centers, not to Parsio itself. For the product's features, see what is Parsio.

The security page also lists subprocessors, the outside companies that handle Parsio's data, including Amazon Textract and Mistral for OCR and OpenAI for AI document extraction. Parsio says it never trains or fine-tunes any model on your data, and that its template engine uses no third-party AI model. A standard Data Processing Agreement, the contract that sets how Parsio handles personal data for you, is available to every customer.

Retention, deletion and health data

On the plan cards, retention is 30, 90, 90 or 180 days by plan; the security page says it is configurable from 1 to 180 days. Its terms let Parsio delete accounts, free or paid, that stay inactive for three months.

On health data, Parsio's terms say the site is not tailored to HIPAA, FISMA or similar rules, and that if your interactions would fall under such laws you may not use it. The terms also make you solely responsible for the data you transmit.

Payments, refunds and who should look elsewhere

Parsio takes credit cards only, through Stripe, and its pricing page rules out PayPal, bank transfer and cryptocurrency. Its terms call all purchases non-refundable. Parsio can be tried on its free plan before any payment, and its pricing page says no credit card is needed. The Parsio review covers the plans.

Two buyers should look elsewhere. A team that must keep documents for a year can look at Parseur, which lists 1-year retention on Micro to Premium; Micro is $49 a month, billed monthly, for 100 pages. A buyer who wants some refund room can look at Airparser, which parsio.io lists under "Also by us" and which says it typically provides "very limited refunds", where Parsio gives none.
