Parsio in one paragraph
Parsio is an online email and document parser. You send it emails, PDFs, scans or spreadsheets, it extracts the fields you care about, such as an order number, a customer name or an invoice total, and it passes the result to Google Sheets, a file download or another system. It runs in the browser at parsio.io, with nothing to install.
The aim is to replace copying and pasting from an inbox into a spreadsheet.
The four Parsio parser engines and what each is for
Parsio's help center describes four engines. You choose one per inbox, and the choice decides both how setup works and how many credits each document costs.
| Engine | Built for | How you set it up | Credit cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Template-based parser | Machine-generated emails with a fixed layout, plus CSV, Excel, XML and JSON files | Highlight the values to extract in a sample document | 1 per document |
| AI parser | Invoices, receipts, bank statements, business cards, ID documents, tax forms | Pick a pre-trained model, no template needed | 3 per page |
| GPT-powered parser | Human-written emails, resumes and PDFs whose layout keeps changing | List the fields you want in plain language | 2 per page |
| OCR converter | Scanned PDFs and images that need to become editable text or tables | Upload and choose an output format | 1 per page |
Each engine has a documented limit. The template parser has no OCR and cannot extract tables from PDFs. The AI parser is restricted to its pre-trained document types. The GPT parser can miss large blocks of data, and Parsio suggests splitting long documents. The OCR converter converts text but does not return structured fields. More on choosing between the first three is in templates versus AI extraction.
How documents get into Parsio and where the data goes
Every Parsio inbox has its own address ending in @io.parsio.io. The usual flow, per the help center, has four steps.
- Create an inbox and choose a parser engine.
- Add documents: forward emails and attachments to the inbox address, upload files by hand, import existing mail from Gmail, Outlook, iCloud, Yahoo or any IMAP server, or send files through the API.
- Parsio extracts the data according to the engine.
- Collect the result: download Excel, CSV or JSON, send rows to Google Sheets, or push the data through webhooks, Zapier, Make or n8n.
Supported inputs include emails, PDFs, scanned PDFs, images, HTML, CSV, XLS and XLSX, TXT, DOCX, RTF, XML, JSON and ZIP files. Extracted values can be cleaned with post-processing written in Python, which is available on every plan. The connection options are laid out in the Parsio integrations guide.
What Parsio costs and what the free plan covers
Parsio is free for 30 credits a month on its Sandbox plan, with no credit card and all four engines included. As read on 3 October 2026, paid plans billed monthly are $29 for 100 credits, $49 for 1,000 credits, $149 for 5,000 credits and from $299 for 12,000 credits. Annual billing lowers these to $24, $41, $124 and $249 a month.
A credit is not always a document. One templated email is one credit, but one invoice page on the AI parser is three. Unused credits expire each period, and Parsio's terms say purchases are non-refundable. Every tier and a worked example are on the Parsio pricing page.
Who is behind Parsio and how it handles data
Parsio's terms of service state that the company is registered in Estonia, with a registered office in Tallinn. The same team also runs Airparser, a separate parser built around language models. Parsio's site says more than 10,000 businesses use it, which is the vendor's own figure and not something this site can confirm.
Its security page lists AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.2 or higher in transit, servers hosted with Hetzner in Germany, and document retention you can set between 1 and 180 days depending on plan. It also states that customer data is not used to train AI models and that a data processing agreement is available for GDPR purposes. Card payments go through Stripe.
Which businesses Parsio suits and which should use something else
Parsio suits a small business with a steady stream of similar emails or documents: order confirmations, booking emails, lead forms, supplier invoices, receipts. It is a good fit when you want the data in Google Sheets and do not have a developer.
It is the wrong tool for a few cases. If you receive ten invoices a month, typing them in is cheaper, as when not to automate explains. If you only need to reshape exported CSV files, Excel's built-in tools may be enough. If every document is a long multi-page PDF, Docparser counts up to five pages as one credit and may cost less. This page is based on Parsio's published documentation, not on hands-on use.
